National Weather Service's Public Service Award. He received this honor again in 1997 for special reports dedicated to severe weather safety.
As a versatile television personality, Dennis filled many other roles apart from weather forecasting. In Syracuse, he hosted "Bowling for Dollars" and a daily children's program "The STM Club". He emceed the Miss Syracuse and Miss New York Pageants, 1983-1985. The first girl he crowned was a 20 year old named Vanessa Williams. An accomplished ventriloquist, Dennis has been in demand for thousands of entertainment ventures from educational school assemblies to AARP meetings, civic and church functions, fairs, festivals, and corporate seminars. The parents of two grown daughters, Dennis and his wife Debbie have returned to Pittsburgh to make their home. Dennis is now involved with public speaking in the Pittsburgh area and around the nation. He can also be seen filling in, occasionally, as meteorologist for KDKA-TV. |
